What will you do as a Financial Controller?

• Management of the annual statutory accounts and regulatory returns, including liaison with other Group companies for financial reporting purposes
• Develop and deliver the Financial Control Framework Strategy and continually challenge it to ensure it is in line with the organisation’s evolving risk appetite
• Ensure appropriate policies are in place within the department and wider organisation in controlling and managing financial transactions in line with the Financial Control Framework
• Management of year end and interim statutory accounts process for the Company
• Owner of quarterly and annual Solvency II regulatory Returns
• Be the link between Finance and Risk and Compliance and seek to maximise efficiency and effectiveness of the respective functions
• Key finance contact within Actuarial, providing supporting reserving analysis and calculations
• Preparation and review of technical accounting memos and discussion papers for management
• Analysis of key variances and provision of commentary on financial performance
• Involvement in budgeting and forecasting

What do you know that makes you a great Financial Controller?

• Previous experience in a dynamic commercial environment, preferably insurance
• Experienced Finance Professional with minimum 5 years post qualified experience
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS and Solvency II is required, with detailed knowledge highly desirable
• Competent/advanced Microsoft Excel and Office user
• Proven people manager and effective leader and communicator
• Someone who effects change and is challenging to all stakeholders
• Team Player that is self-managed and an effective delegator
