What is the plan for the Finance Manager role?

Reporting to the Head of Accounting, the successful candidate will be responsible for management of the finance team and day to day operations. They will take a technical lead on financial accounting standards and best practice.

What will you do as a Finance Manager?

Manage the day to day running of the finance department including but not restricted to accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking and cashflow management.
Manage the month-end financial close process to ensure that all internal and external reporting deadlines are met. Ensure that accurate books of account are kept in a timely manner, all manual accounting adjustments are entered and relevant checks and reviews are in place to ensure integrity of data. Ensure all monthly reconciliations are completed and reviewed in accordance with internal timetable.
Monthly production and review of individual entity and group consolidated balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements. Investigation and explanation of material variances to the Head of Accounting.
Review current internal controls to ensure fitness for purpose. Implement robust, scaleable processes that are flexible enough to support the growing needs of the organisation.
Facilitate the timely submission of external returns including but not limited to corporation tax, VAT, gaming duty, regulatory returns.
Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with applicable Accounting Standards and other legislation.
Key contributor to the audit process capable of managing the relationship with external auditors and leading the audit process.
Implement and manage the Group debt collection policy.

What do you know that makes you a great Finance Manager?

Previous experience in a similar senior accountancy role
Member of a professional accountancy body (ACA, ACCA).
Strong technical accounting abilities and sound working knowledge of current IFRSs.
Experience of recruiting, managing and developing a team.

Salary £50k - £65k based on experience with bonus & an excellent relocation and benefits package.
