What is the plan for the Accounts Assistant role?
The Accounts Assistant role is responsible for helping create high quality financial statements for a portfolio of clients consisting of Trusts, Companies and Partnerships as part of the Firm’s provision of fiduciary services.
What will you do as a Accounts Assistant ?
Maintain accounting records in the client entity database
Ensure the provision of accurate and timely financial statements prepared in accordance with relevant accounting standards for specific companies and trusts for audit and/or submission direct to the client and regulatory authorities
Deals with resulting queries and accounting review points from third parties
Preparation of tax returns as appropriate.
Ensure that you have a comprehensive understanding of the transactions you are dealing with
Ensure accounting procedure queries can be answered by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulation
Be fully conversant with a computerised accounting system and maintain a good knowledge of spreadsheet applications
Ensure client expectations and accounting deadlines are properly managed
Calculate the corporate management trust and accounts preparation fees of companies and trusts administered
What do you know that makes you a great Junior Accountant?
Experience in a similar accounts role.
Qualified AAT or nearly qualified
Experience of dealing with complex and detailed financial information.
Prior experience of preparing Trust Accounts would be an advantage.
Able to make reasoned and objective decisions based on sound accounting knowledge.
Highly proficient in relevant accounting software
Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite - Excel and Outlook essential.
Experience of Viewpoint would be an advantage.
Salary based on experience with benefits package.
