What is the plan for the Senior Project Manager role?

As a Project Manager within the PMO you will be responsible for delivering a series of world-class strategic projects through excellent planning, control and communication whilst maintaining professional relationships with all project stakeholders. Often, these projects occur within a rapid and agile delivery environment so an affinity for agile methodologies, processes, tools and artefacts is essential. Reporting to the Head of PMO you are expected to be proactively working with the rest of the business to drive projects through to completion to timescale and budget.

What will you do as a Senior Project Manager?

• Define and establish the cross-functional team required to support the delivery of a project
• Develop and maintain accurate project plans and exception plans; ensuring consistent application of project planning standards
• Help to define and deliver against the project management methodologies defined in the Project Idea to Closure lifecycle, to ensure quality and consistency of delivery
• Implementation of robust change control against baselined scope, milestones, outcomes and benefits
• Co-ordinate the project team day-to-day, including (but not limited to) the business sponsor, 3rd party vendors, business analysts, development teams, IT, Finance, the PMO team and Project Board members
• In co-ordination with finance, retain responsibility for controlling costs, including the accurate and timely tracking of a project’s expenditure against agreed budgets
• Identify, plan for and manage to resolution project risks, issues and dependencies, including timely escalation in an appropriate manner and contingency planning when required
• Regularly and transparently communicate project statuses, including key risks, issues, actions and dependencies to project stakeholders in line with agreed timelines and standards. Establish the status reporting mechanisms necessary to support accurate and timely information updates
• Responsible for communicating major project decisions taken- both upwards to senior management and downwards to affected teams (observing relevant confidentiality considerations where applicable)
• Facilitate the capturing of requirements by collaborating with business analysts and product teams to support the definition of business and technology specifications
• Work closely with the web and mobile development team and service delivery team to ensure quality, effective and timely delivery of services


What do you know that makes you a great Senior Project Manager?

• Solid experience managing IT Projects spanning across multiple environments within the platform, to include: Networking, Linux, Windows and Virtualisation
• Online experience essential, ideally gained within the online gaming industry providing the ability to provide content advice and support as well as generic discipline support
• Ability to manage both budgetary and resource requirements both internally and externally
• Experience with Project Management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, MS Excel
• Substantial experience of working within both Agile & Waterfall project management methodologies and associated tools and techniques such as: PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, Scrum or Kanban
• Competence in managing resources in a matrixed, multidisciplinary, globally-dispersed environment
• Experience of managing third party suppliers
• Proficient user of video and telephone conferencing technologies


Salary circa £60k - £70k based on experience with bonus, an excellent relocation package and private healthcare.
