RecruitGibraltar are currently helping our client who is a market leading internet service provider who has a great opportunity for a IT Systems Engineer (Linux) to join this high performance team based in Gibraltar. What is the plan for the IT Systems Engineer (Linux) role?

You will typically be responsible for the servers and for general network operations, i.e. troubleshooting and configuration. You will provide system administration activities and immediate troubleshooting efforts when contacted by the Service Desk to ensure outages or incidents are resolved as quickly as possible.

What do you know that makes you a great IT Systems Engineer (Linux)?

Solid Experience of Linux Administration in a large organisation (Redhat/CentOS 5-6-7 & Ubuntu Server)
Very good working knowledge of VMware (vSphere 6-6.5) - migration experience
Good DBA skills (MySQL).
Good hardware knowledge, HP servers.
Ability to build and maintain a backup infrastructure ( Veeam Backup, Manual linux backup scripts )
Excellent debugging skills in a logical and structure manner
Incident and problem analysis, progression and resolution.
On-call support
Excellent in written and spoken English, Spanish would also be advantageous.

Advantageous Skills:

Experience of managing Windows Server 2008R2, 2012R2, 2016
Exchange Server 2010/2013/2016
SAN and NAS implementations (FC/iSCSI/NFS/CIFS/Samba)
Networking concepts: TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, Routing, Switching and Firewalls

Salary £30k to 40k based on experience with benefits package.
