RecruitGibraltar are currently recruiting for a Senior Underwriter to join a household name in the personal lines insurance sector with an excellent reputation in its field of expertise. They are an independent European insurance group that operates across a number of different market sectors and offers a diverse range of products and services.

You will work across all core insurance functions, including regular interactions with business partners, ensuring compliance standards are maintained and overseeing the various insurance schemes.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Underwriting Manager with reviewing and monitoring the underwriting performance of insurance schemes including premium levels, claims ratios, frequency etc.
• Dealing with a wide range of insurance and claim referrals across all lines of the business.
• Interacting and developing relationships with our business partners.
• Preparing and reviewing policy terms and conditions for all insurance schemes.
• Managing legal agreements and reinsurance documentation for new and existing schemes.
• Ensuring compliance standards are updated and maintained – this may include research and updates on GFSC, FCA, EIOPA and other relevant regulatory bodies.
• Assisting with audits of business partners.

Experience:

• Previous experience in an underwriting role.
• Excellent knowledge of underwriting methods and procedures.
• Exceptional analytical and numerical ability.
• First-rate communication (oral and written), interpersonal & negotiation skills.
• Occasional overseas travel may be required

Salary £30k – 40k based on experience and private healthcare.
