RecruitGibraltar are currently helping our client who is an experienced accounts professional to work in a Commercial Management role. You will work closely with the Finance Director and will be a key point of contact in the Finance team. The Company has a truly international footprint and thus this role requires someone with experience of UK VAT laws and ideally other countries and their import taxes. The successful candidate will ideally be a qualified Accountant or candidates qualified by experience would also be considered and be able to demonstrate a serious commitment to their career to date.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a right hand man for the financial Director helping across a variety of departments and areas.
• Prepare financial reports for different jurisdictions and inter company as required
• Help in the calculation of VAT, duty deferment etc
• Cashflow management for the UK and US – ability to manage cash and ability to forecast and communicate future funding requirements
• Oversee the timely and accurate delivery of the month end management accounts
• Posting and review of UK payroll including control checks and quarterly reconciliations
• Maintaining consistent reporting formats for the Group and updating Group schedules for key financials
• Helping the transaction team to prepare management accounts and ad hoc reports
• Provide ad hoc accounting service including payments, credit control & cash management to different departments.
• Work closely with the Finance Director on budgeting

Experience:

• ACCA or CIMA qualified
• VAT experience is essential
• Strong commercial acumen
• Gather and analyse financial data accurately
• Strong technical financial accounting knowledge
• A strong knowledge of balance sheet accounts is required as the role will have oversight of all EU company balance sheets, including review and approval of monthly reconciliations

Salary is circa £40k - £45k plus benefits package
