They are searching for a Compliance Officer to be responsible for helping ensure that the Gibraltar office acts in accordance with the statutory and regulatory framework for compliance, ensuring the controls and procedures established address the risks and regulations arising to the business, providing a critical role in the protection of our reputation and our value and, promoting a positive compliance culture that is in line with the business’s strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribute to an effective annual risk-based compliance and anti-money laundering plan.
• Ensure the daily checks of new client applications and new staff are carried out in a timely fashion, meeting the requirements of service level agreements.
• Review of exception reports for unusual transactions, changes to client risk ratings, etc.
• Gather, analyse, create, review, and communicate management and employee information to address compliance and AML corporate governance needs.
• Identify key regulatory changes that impact the business, communicate and assess the impact of such changes, informing the compliance team accordingly.
• Actively support and advise the team on all relevant matters affecting the business.
• Complete or manage completion of regulatory reports, returns and notifications meeting the appropriate deadlines.
• Assist with the management of regulatory relationships, including visits, investigations, enquiries, and routine reporting.
• Manage general internal and external compliance and AML queries, being the point of contact (including internal and external audits, SARs etc) and reporting to the relevant authorities and internal staff as appropriate.
• Manage the recording and follow-up of breaches, errors, and client complaints within the business and continually provide up-to-date information to the Gibraltar Head of Compliance.
• Review and inform all marketing and presentational materials for compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
• Provide ad-hoc consultancy to staff on procedural matters.
• Keep up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, guidance, and news.
• Liaise as requested with the GFSC in the preparation of any regulatory inspections, providing assistance and support during the inspections and dealing with issues arising from comments made, making recommendations to the team for action that may be necessary.

ESSENTIAL:

• Previous experience in a compliance role
• Knowledge of FATCA, MIFID and Solvency II.
• Familiarity with the GFSC AML Guidance Notes, Gibraltar Regulations, JMLSG Notes, 3rd AMLD and broader AML regulation.
• Understanding of complex corporate structures, from both foreign and domestic entity types including; trusts, funds (regulated and non-regulated), SPV’s, partnerships and limited companies, pension products, etc.
• Able to understand, follow, and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations, and procedures (i.e. internal controls).
• The ideal candidate will have basic experience in performing reviews / investigation into
• PEPs/sanction/negative news and other high risk entities in line with regulatory requirements.
• Experience in compliance administration within the financial services industry or similar.
• Experience in financial services with some technical knowledge of KYC/AML
• Experience in the use of screening software such as World-Check, C6, etc.

Salary is circa £25k - 30k
