Our client is searching for an IT Support Assistant to help the IT Manager in providing day to day diagnostic and resolution of all faults within the IT infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for a keen 1st / 2nd line assistant to break into an environment offering more autonomy, responsibility and knowledge growth potential.
You will proactively monitor and manage the IT infrastructure to indentify potential issues. It will involve a shift pattern and out of hours for call out, for which you will get enhanced pay. Your responsibilities will include the following: Install, configure and upgrade operating systems and software, using standard and business and administrative packages. Install, assemble and configure computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripheral equipment (printers, scanners etc). Troubleshoot problems with computer systems, including hardware, software, email, network and peripheral equipment. Act as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and data. Implement solutions as required or directed. Assist in planning, design and research for acquisition recommendations on hardware and software. Rewire or redirect wires as required for the network. Requirements Recent experience in a 1st or 2nd line support role in a commercial environment. Working knowledge of Citrix web interface. Understanding of HP blade technology. In depth technical knowledge of Network infrastructure with network management experience desirable. Flexible attitude to working hours. You will live locally. Salary is £20k to £22k and dependant on experience |
