What will you do as a Software Developer (PHP & Node.js)?
You'll be working with a wide range of technologies covering the full stack on platforms that are constantly evolving. Amongst other things they use PHP, Couchbase, and Node.js. They are always looking to improve, so if you know how they can put some cool new tech to work then they will be all ears.
You will work on scaling up systems to thousands of requests per second while still maintaining response times in the milliseconds while simultaneously introducing new first to market products such as Apple Pay.
As a principal software engineer lead the technical delivery of core components of an entirely new customer account platform. Supporting processes including registration, login, payment and transactions we will deliver a system that is flexible, reliable, scalable and secure whilst handling daily traffic consisting of millions of requests.
Leading a squad of other developers, operations and test engineers you will not only design, implement and support the service you build but enable those around you to do the same.
What do you know that makes you a great Software Developer (PHP & Node.js)?
You will need to demonstrate very high levels of skill in the PHP or Java it’s libraries and runtimes
Experience with Java application frameworks outside of the J2EE sphere is a strong advantage but not essential, for example Spring, Dropwizard and Play
Experience in other JVM based languages such as Scala and Clojure with the ability to assess their merits with respect to specific domain requirements is useful.
Salary £50k to £60k based on experience with bonus plus an excellent package covering everything you can think of.
