What is the plan for the Category Manager role?

The key purpose of this role is to optimise 3rd party spend on digital and cabinet gaming products across the Group, through the delivery of the identified integration benefit and creation of short/mid/long-term value optimisation strategies aligned to the objectives of the business.

What will you do as a Category Manager?

Own and embody the teams values, including the promotion and embedding within the team
Scope out of all historic and future gaming spend by supplier, BU and geography – including International
Engage gaming teams to understand business strategies
Create a gaming strategy, ensuring commercial tension across all areas of spend and a clear roadmap of activity based on contract expiry dates and business needs
Understand and ensure the implementation of all gaming Integration benefits through both personal delivery and matrix engagement with the gaming teams
Financial reporting of cost improvement on a P&L basis, interpreting CAPEX, OPEX, depreciation and cash flow
Build a cutting edge knowledge of the supply base, providing value adding insights to the gaming community
Operate agile and effective commercial processes
Optimise buying channels, to ensure efficient transactional procurement
Understand critical areas for Innovation and build a pipeline of opportunities to be shared with the supplier community
Identification of global synergies
Identification of revenue improvement opportunities
Using stakeholder and supplier networks, identify continuous improvement and step-change opportunities to improve product and service specifications

What do you know that makes you a great Category Manager?

Exceptional commercial experience (including strategy creation, implementation and benefit delivery)
Building of gaming strategies
Graduate calibre with Bachelor’s degree in Business (or other related degree)
Post-graduate qualification (e.g. MSc/MBA) or a professional qualification such as MCIPS is desirable but not essential
TCO modelling to define optimal cost structures
Excellent people and influencing skills across all levels of the organisation
Highly organised
Self-motivated and can do attitude
Understanding of markets that provide hardware cabinets and software that runs on them. Ideally revenue generating customer propositions, but experience in similar product such as ATM’s would be considered


Salary £68k - £78k based on experience with bonus & an excellent relocation and benefits package.
